This was the slogan of the FASTENER FAIR 2011 held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from November 8 to 9, 2011. The fair that was already present in other regions of the world was showed in the emerging countries as Brazil and it was possible to see an increasing number of visitors from national and international industries.

The KVT Solutioneering Group was represented by Brazilian subsidiary, at this international trade fair, with the fastening and sealing portfolio of products.

Among the focus of the fair were riveting technologies with the product line KD TECH ® blind rivets, which refers to a relatively new product to KVT Group. KD means "Kontrollierte Deformation" (controlled deformation) and offers to users a different solution for riveting in specific applications where you need to make sure of the correct fixation in the designed place.

Were also exposed PEM ® products, to evaluate the customer interesting in this technology and applications in metal sheet in Brazil.

The presentation of products Tappex ® emphasized not only the diversity of fastening solutions for the plastics industry, as well as the design of the product portfolio and the applications based in the Customer needs.

The KVT emphasized its technology and the brand in Brazil, through the presentation of the portfolio of products. Once again, wide proof that whatever the fastening problem is, KVT has the ideal solution.

Close to customers around the world

Proximity to clients is an essential success factor. Because customers all over the world rely on KVT Solutioneering Group, the company has established a global presence with many locations and distribution partners.

Solutioneering also means accompanying customers in the planning, development, and realization of complex, customized solutions. Further regional expansion therefore is a precondition for its implementation everywhere.

As a result, customers are provided with expert application consulting in their native language on demand and local technical support is given to international customers in transfer projects as well as to local customers who develop for both the local and export markets. Support through networked logistics, order processing, and state-of-the-art warehouse systems are also included. In this way, KVT ensures that deliveries are never late, quality is consistently high, and processes are always reliable.

Our objective is to expand globally with current clients, protect business that has been developed in KVT’s core markets, and develop new local customers.

Asia and South America

With its expansion of business into Asia and South America, KVT is actively participating in the growth of these “emerging markets.” The starting point is the promotion of the KOENIG expander® range of products and the selective introduction of products from the fastening technology portfolio, which includes FILKO® and KD Tech® blind rivet nuts, Tappex® threaded inserts, and bigHead® fastening elements for composites. Since the beginning of 2011, KVT has been present in China and Brazil with its own subsidiaries. Both organizations approach customers directly with a dedicated sales engineer team and also are in the process of establishing a local network of distribution partners for indirect sales. Based on these activities, KVT can ensure support by experienced technical staff and partners for large, small, and medium-sized local customers in key industries (mainly automotive/special vehicles, hydraulics, transportation, and machinery).

Growing US presence

In North America, KVT is working consistently and successfully to develop its market presence. In 2007/08, the US companies Sherex Industries and Farmington Engineering were taken over and merged under the roof of KVT Koenig LLC. As part of this expansion, the headquarters and operations of the US company were moved to North Haven, CT, at the end of 2010. The KOENIG expander® and the KOENIG restrictor® are at the center of the business, and they are also manufactured on site. Simultaneously, KVT is establishing the market presence for fastening technology selectively through a range of products comprising rivet technology, threaded inserts, and fasteners for plastics and composites. In North America the fastener business is managed by a dedicated product manager and presented in the market by the entire team of sales engineers. There is particular demand for KVT’s sealing and fastening applications in the automotive industry, but they are also sought after in the marine sector, the transportation industry, and environmental engineering.

The ability to deliver high-grade products with Swiss quality in all NAFTA countries and to customers around the world faster than ever before is now provided by an on-site warehouse, 50 employees involved in manufacturing and back-office operations, as well as by the company’s own market activities through a technically qualified sales force and product management.

Austria and Eastern Europe

Since 1992, KVT Koenig GmbH, with its registered office in Linz, has been a competence center for the Austrian and Eastern European market. In order to provide services to the growing number of Western companies in Eastern Europe as well as to local customers, KVT has greatly expanded its sales network there over the past two years. In addition to already existing subsidiaries in Poland (founded in 2000) and the Czech Republic (founded in 2005), Slovakia joined the organization in 2008, followed by Slovenia, Hungary, and Romania in 2010. Employees with native country language and technical expertise provide direct customer contact on site. Product management, back-office operations and all logistics are managed from the competence center in Austria.

KVT facts and data (2011):

330 employees worldwide
25,000 active customers
40,000 catalogue parts

This was the slogan of the 10th Blechexpo show held in Stuttgart, Germany, from June 6 to 10, 2011. The “little sister” of EuroBlech in Hannover – the two fairs are held in alternating years – is now becoming more and more emancipated thanks to an increasing stream of domestic and international industry visitors.

The KVT Solutioneering Group was represented by its German branch at this international industry fair for everything from the world of sheet metal production and processing.

Among the focal points of the show were riveting technologies with the product lines POP® blind rivets, HUCK® heavy-duty rivets and lock bolts, FILKO blind rivet nuts and KD TECH® blind rivet nuts. In the case of the latter, this concerns a relatively new product from the KVT Group. KD stands for “Kontrollierte Deformation” (controlled deformation) and offers users an extensive range of options in construction processes and an enormous expansion in potential fields of application. This segment was rounded out by the presentation of corresponding processing tools.

A prominent role was also played by PEM® press-in fasteners.
We demonstrated the use of these fasteners in practice with the PEMSERTER®3000MB™ automatic inserter and an example of multishell technology. Multishell technology enables users to work with four different press-in components in one single process.

The presentation of Southco latching elements emphasized not only the immense diversity of their latching solutions, but also the extremely attractive design of the product line.

The KVT Solutioneering Group appearance at the show was topped off by a presentation of the entire range of product lines for this segment. Once again, ample proof that whatever the fastening problem, KVT has the ideal solution.

There is a risk with hybrid words that they can be seen simply as smart marketing slogans. For Phil Matten ‘Solutioneering’ did make sense on first reading but a day at the KVT headquarters close to Zurich was an excellent opportunity to test the integrity of the strategy and thinking behind it.

The KVT Solutioneering Group owes its roots to Dr Ing. Max Koenig who, in 1927, began offering customised sheet metal engineering in Zurich. In 1950 the company introduced complementary products including blind rivets and fasteners. It also relocated to Dietikon, around 15 kilometres from the centre of Zurich, which remains its headquarters as well as a manufacturing site.
It is one of KVT’s distinctions that it is both innovative manufacturer and successful fastening technology distributor. The KOENIG-expander®, manufactured now in both Dietikon and North Haven, Connecticut, is a unique sealing system for drilled holes. Innovated in the 1970s primarily for hydraulic applications it today ensures safe and tight closures, even at extreme pressure loading, in a wide range of applications, including engine, power transmission, steering and fuel injection systems for many automotive manufacturers. As well as contributing substantially to the sales and profitability the expander business imparts a series of invaluable advantages to its fastener technology counterpart.

Its innovatory design and engineering integrity ...

<![CDATA[Premiere for the KVT Solutioneering Group]]> http://www.kvt-koenig.us/News/News/5fcafb52-b967-4560-c37b-f335a4d73f7d/Premiere-for-the-KVT-Solutioneering-Group.html http://www.kvt-koenig.us/News/News/5fcafb52-b967-4560-c37b-f335a4d73f7d/Premiere-for-the-KVT-Solutioneering-Group.html 2011-04-18T11:55:00+0200
For the first time, the KVT Solutioneering Group appeared at the world’s most prominent industrial trade fair, the Hannover Messe 2011, with a brand new look. A stand concept with a focus on the competence of the KVT brand in connecting and sealing technologies and presenting the company as a powerful partner for you in both these segments. And all in the new Corporate Design in which the now twelve group sites present themselves to the world.

The focal point in the specialist section, Motion, Drive & Automation, was on the WEH® Adapter and miniBOOSTER® product lines from the portfolio of the German production site, KVT-Koenig GmbH in Illerrieden/ Ulm. WEH® Adapters are unthreaded, fast connectors or connections used for checking against leakage. Tensioned segments enable direct, split-second, docking to components with all types of screw threads and flanges, flared tube ends and even to smooth piping at pressures from a vacuum to 1,000 bar.
miniBOOSTER® pressure boosters increase low initial input pressures to high output pressures wherever needed and without any need for extra energy sources. This makes expensive high-pressure lines superfluous.

The KOENIG-expander®, manufactured in our own facilities in Dietikon / Switzerland, the headquarters of the KVT Group, is the sealing element for the reliable sealing of auxiliary holes drilled in components in the hydraulic sector. Extremely versatile and manufactured in a variety of materials, it permanently resists pressures up to 500 bar.
Attractively integrated into the stand concept, all three products could be tested or demonstrated under practical conditions on the spot.

An initial résumé shortly after the end of the fair shows that our appearance generated an extremely positive echo and lets us expect a number of new projects and orders.

Dear Customers,

we are often asked whether the current events unfolding in Japan will have an effect on our products. We take your concerns seriously, and as a result have conducted an analysis of our entire range of products. Here are the results:

The entire portfolio of products from the KVT Solutioneering Group is unaffected at the present time.
The delivery of products in the HS, HR and Ultragrip series of POP blind rivets may be delayed.

We are monitoring the situation daily, and will act immediately and inform you should there be any changes.

If you have any related questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

KVT Solutioneering Group at the CONEXPO – CON/ AGG 2011 in Las Vegas.

The CONEXPO – CON/ AGG is one of the most important gathering places for the construction and agriculture industry. At the show, which is held every three years, over 2,000 exhibitors present their latest equipment, components, products, services and technologies.

For the first time KVT-Koenig LLC presented itself as the USA branch of the KVT Solutioneering Group. The booth – in the new corporate design - focused on the strengths and benefits of the KOENIG-expander® and the KOENIG-restrictor. Also on display was the innovative KVT fastening portfolio, a growing and increasingly important business pillar for KVT in North America.

Overall Matt Becker, CEO of KVT-Koenig LLC, considers the strong presence of KVT at the CONEXPO – CON/ AGG a great success and an important sign for the market. Following the Sherex and Farmington Engineering acquisitions and the subsequent changes within KVT, it was important to show the market that KVT USA consistently follows its strategy to become an even stronger partner for reliable sealing and flow control systems and even enhances its portfolio of products and competence into the field of fastening.

The positive reactions from various sides received at the booth in Las Vegas proved that the KVT Solutioneering Group is following the right strategy.

See you at the IFPE 2014 in Las Vegas!

Innovative solutions for lightweight fastening
When searching for new materials the industry is focusing on three criteria: light weight, stability and cost optimization. Sandwich technologies and composites are opening a wide range of new opportunities. But not only the quality of the materials has to be focused upon, also the fastening of those materials must be considered carefully.

For especially light components, as the carbon fibre-diffusor used in Aston Martin cars, the bigHead® bolt provides the perfect solution. The bolt is – without drilling – installed at the internal side of the component. Thereby the panel remains undamaged and the fastener hidden. In addition the BIG BOND adhesive is applied, which runs through the perforated “head” of the bolt and guarantees highest stability even under extreme tensile and torsion forces.
Special challenges as the manufacturing of lightweight construction panels are managed through the innovative blind rivet technology and the Twindisk fastener of BigHead®. The Filko KD (controlled deformation) blind rivet nut can ideally be used in soft and porous materials.

You can find additional information on the 400 bigHead®-standard types and various further expert fastening solutions on our products page.
